Gal Gadot is currently developing a third film in the Wonder Woman series, according to ComicBook.com.

The 38-year-old performer spoke to the media outlet and revealed that she had been in talks with DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran to reprise her role as the superheroine in an upcoming movie.

The actress, who recently revealed that she would be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said to the outlet: ‘I love Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart.’

Gadot added: ‘From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together.’

The performer initially portrayed the DC Comics superheroine in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The character had previously been played by Lynda Carter in the Wonder Woman television series, which ran from 1975 until 1979.

Gadot eventually reprised her role in the 2017 standalone feature Wonder Woman, which also starred Chris Evans and Robin Wright.

The movie was a hit with both critics and audiences, and it grossed nearly $823 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

The performer took on the part for a second time that year in Justice League, in which she costarred with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa.

Gadot reprised her role as WW in the 2020 feature Wonder Woman 1984, for which she also served as a producer.

The movie received a mixed critical response, however, and was not as lucrative as its predecessor.

The actress was also seen as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League, which was released on HBO Max that same year.

The performer recently made cameo as the character in Shazam! Fury Of The Gods.

Development on Wonder Woman 3 was initially revealed to the public in 2019, when director Patty Jenkins spoke about potentially working on a follow-up to Wonder Woman 1984.

Although the movie was greenlit in 2020, the filmmaker was eventually removed from the project after Gunn and Safran restructured the DC Extended Universe.

Gadot remained involved with the project, however, and recently told Entertainment Tonight that ‘things are being worked behind the scenes.’

Wonder Woman 3 currently does not have a planned release date.
