LeBron James Commends Son Bronny Following His USC Debut After Cardiac Arrest: ‘Proud Moment, You’ve Given Me More Life!’

LeBron James was left emotional by his son Bronny as he made his college basketball debut five months on from suffering cardiac arrest.

Bronny, 19, finally took to the court for USC Sunday following his recovery from cardiac arrest, which he suffered during a practice session with the Trojans in July.

The freshman was found to have a congenital heart but was recently cleared by doctors to participate in full-contact practice.

During his first appearance for the Trojans on Sunday, he collected four points, three rebounds and two assists, although he was unable to prevent an 84-79 overtime loss to Long Beach State.

And dad LeBron, who supported him courtside Sunday, expressed his pride in his son in a post on Instagram.

‘Damn the wins and loses that will occur. You’ve already won the ultimate goal/championship and that’s LIFE!!! Proud of you kid and today you’ve given me more life! Thank you and I love you.’

Soccer legend and Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham shared his support for the James family by commenting on the post.

‘Proud moment man ❤️ this is what it’s all about x FAMILY ❤️ @kingjames,’ the former England captain.

Following the game, Bronny thanked the Mayo Clinic, where he was treated, his family, friends and teammates.

‘I just want to say I’m thankful for everything,’ the teenager said. ‘Mayo Clinic, everything they helped me with. My parents, siblings who supported me through this hard time in my life.

The Trojans fell in overtime in an upset at the hands of Long Beach State – who won 84-79.

The Trojans fell to 5-4 on the season. They next play at Auburn next Sunday.

However, LeBron enjoyed a victory of his own over the weekend as he and the Lakers won the NBA’s first-ever in-season tournament, beating the Indiana Pacers 123-109 in Las Vegas.
