Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man met its end. The iconic character sacrificed his life to save the world by wiping out Thanos and his army during the climax of the movie.

Jonathan Majors Reveals He Wants to Face Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man in a Future Movie

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror is one of the few things that the audience finds acceptable about the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Previously, a cloud of doubt hovered over Majors’ future with the MCU due to his off-court troubles.

As of now, Majors is still a part of the MCU and will most probably be the focal point of Avengers 5 and 6. Keeping that in mind, Majors was asked to pick one of the original Avengers as his desired foe in an exclusive interview with Life Hacker.

This is like a Robert Downey Jr. day, he just keeps popping in [to my head]. Like, I know he’s an OG. I mean, he’s one of the originals. I’m just such a huge fan of him as an actor. I think what he did with Iron Man was such a gift to the culture at large. I would love to be across from him on screen to see how our philosophies, acting-wise and character-wise, just personally, match up.

Robert Downey Jr.’s epic portrayal of Iron Man was one of the biggest reasons behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s success during the 2010s. Evidently, Majors picked him to potentially feature together in an Avengers movie.

While many rumors have suggested that Downey Jr. may return as Iron Man in the future, none have been confirmed by Marvel Studios.

Jonathan Majors Believes Robert Downey Jr. was Fascinating as Iron Man

Jonathan Majors heaped huge praise on the veteran actor’s depiction of the iconic comic book character in the same interview with Life Hacker.

You know, I find him to be such a fascinating artist, which is why Iron Man is so fascinating. His portrayal of Iron Man is so fascinating and he represents a very clear world view and energy of the Avengers.

Majors also pointed out that his character is undoubtedly in a different era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe compared to Iron Man. Keeping that in mind, Majors wants the two characters to feature together in Avengers: Kang Dynasty. 

Well, if Majors’ wish becomes a reality in the upcoming Avengers film, it will certainly have the potential to break all records set by previous movies in the franchise.
