Where is Amber Heard now?

Amber Heard sold her California home in the Yucca Valley desert in July 2022 and moved abroad.

According to TMZ at the time, the Aquaman star raked in $1.05m for the retreat shortly after the ruling in the case between her and her ex-husband.

It was then reported that she was moving to Spain – renting briefly in Mallorca before moving permanently to Madrid.

The Texas native showed no signs of planning on leaving anytime soon.

Speaking to El Gordo y la Flaca, she said ‘I love Spain’ and that she hopes to remain for a long time.

The clip also shows off her fluent Spanish as she speaks to reporters on the roadside.

Despite saying that she was quitting Hollywood, the actress has not left filmmaking behind altogether.

She made her first movie appearance since her and Depp’s trial on June 25, at the premiere of In The Fire at the Taormina Film Festival in Italy.

She told Deadline: ‘Right now, I just kind of want to not have stones thrown at me so much.

‘I just want to make movies and be appreciated as an actress. I don’t want to have to be crucified to be appreciated as one.’

Do Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have children?

Heard has a daughter but not with Depp, to whom she was married form 2015 to 2017.

Oonagh was born via a surrogate on April 8 2021, four years after her divorce from Depp was finalised.

The actress moved to Spain with her daughter, who’s father is yet to be revealed, where she hopes to raise her ‘away from all the noise.’

In April 2023, a source told PEOPLE that Heard ‘couldn’t wait to leave the US with her daughter’ after the defamation trial reached a verdict in June 2022.

What happened to Amber Heard in the Johnny Depp trial?

July 2022’s verdict in the defamation case found in favour of Depp, requiring Heard to pay $5m in punitive damages and $10m in compensatory damages.

However, the punitive damages were capped at $350,000 in accordance with Virginia state law.

Depp brought the case as a result of an op-ed by his ex-wife in 2018, which had the headline: ‘Amber Heard: I spoke up against 𝑠e𝑥ual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.’

Heard filed a counter-claim alleging that Depp had orchestrated ‘a harassment campaign via Twitter.’

The result meant that swathes of online commentary became even louder and more ferocious in targeting Heard.

This is despite Depp failing to win a libel suit in the UK in 2020 against News Group Newspapers Ltd for a Sun article calling him a ‘wife beater.’
