Ja Morant returned to the NBA last night, and he did it storybook fashion – putting up 34 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and a buzzer-beating game winner. It was a moment that not just NBA fans enjoyed, but also NBA players.
Morant received praise from the likes of LeBron James, Draymond Green, Tyrese Maxey, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, Kyle Kuzma, Tyus Jones, and more. Everyone in the league loved seeing Ja Morant return the way he did, and couldn’t be prouder of him. Ja reacted to to all the praise with a simple statement, “love is love.”
Aside from the usual suspects of media critics who generally criticize every NBA player, no one wants to see Ja Morant fail. Players want to see Ja Morant do well, players want to see Morant become the next of American basketball, he’s arguably the most exciting player in the league and he’s only 24 years old.
What comes next for Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies is trying to make a concentrated playoff push. The team is currently 6.5 games away from a play-in spot and has a ton of work to do. They can’t look at it way though, and need to take the rest of the season day-by-day. With Ja Morant back, and Marcus Smart soon to be back, the push is coming now.
