Sutton’s determination and work ethic caught the attention of Lavonda Wright Myers, who encountered him walking in the rain after a long shift at the restaurant. Touched by Jayden’s commitment, Myers took it upon herself to fulfill a promise she made to him on December 10.

In a Facebook post, Myers narrated, “I passed a 12th-grade stranger walking in a light rain at the speed of lightning headed to work after school. After working a 7hr shift, He would walk miles back in the cold arriving home around 1130pm at night with this same smile.” Inspired by Jayden’s resilience, Myers pledged to provide him with a car during their encounter.

True to her word, Myers raised funds through a GoFundMe account, collecting $7,000. With this support, she was able to purchase a car for Jayden Sutton. The general manager of Nalley Honda dealership in Union City also contributed by reducing the price of the vehicle after hearing Sutton’s story.

Expressing his gratitude, Jayden Sutton said, “I just want to say thank you. A million times. You don’t understand how much.” Lavonda Wright Myers, overwhelmed by the experience, emphasized the importance of making a positive difference in the world.

Now equipped with his own car, Jayden Sutton encourages others to persevere in their endeavors. “If you’re doing something good or trying to reach a goal, keep doing it. You might get some help. That’s what happened to me,” he shared.
