I’m A Celebrity’s Danielle Harold bursts into tears as her mother greets her on the bridge with a warm hug after she becomes fifth star voted out

Danielle Harold became overwhelmed with emotion on Thursday night’s I’m A Celebrity as she saw her mother for the first time after being eliminated.

The EastEnders actress, 31, was sent home from camp after losing out to Tony Bellew in the public vote after they ended up in the bottom two.

As she made her way down the famous bridge she burst into tears upon seeing her mum Lisa Marie Carter waiting for her.

The pair shared a very moving hug as they reunited after weeks apart and tearfully smiled for the cameras.

Lisa touched down in Australia to support her daughter last week, along with Danielle’s stepdad David Murray and friend Avinash Goury.

She gushed that she was incredibly proud of Danielle and that she is already ‘a winner’ in her eyes.

Speaking to MailOnline at the airport, Lisa said: ‘She’s doing really, really well, I knew she would be determined.’

Admitting her daughter’s bravery in the Bushtucker Trials had ‘inspired’ her to conquer her own fears, Lisa mused: ‘I don’t know how she does it, I’m not a good at heights and she’s inspired me to jump on a plane and get out here…

‘She just keeps being herself, she’s very caring. She’s already a winner in my eyes anyway, I’m really proud.

‘I knew she would give it a good go but I am a bit surprised at how much she has thrown herself into it. She was anxious going in.

‘I am not worried now though because I can see she looks happy and she is enjoying herself.

‘It is a bit weird watching her as herself on TV, it is almost like we are sharing her with everyone.’

After her exit, Danielle spoke to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly and expressed her love of her time in the jungle.

The soap star insisted she got on with everyone in camp, even controversial politician Nigel Farage.

She said: ‘I’m so glad this year was my year… even Mr Farage, they were such a good group of people and we’re friends for life.’

Danielle gushed about Sam Thompson in particular, calling him like a ‘brother’ and saying she wanted him to win the series.

She said: ‘[Sam’s] literally become a brother to me. We’re both a bit crazy, bubbly and loud, probably got on everyone’s nerves down there… he made me laugh so much.

‘I thought [his energy] was brilliant, I’m egging it on. You need someone down there with constant energy, when you dip, you need someone to bring you back up, and that’s Sam.’

She joined the other five eliminated celebrities – Nick Pickard, Fred Sirieix, Nella Rose and Frankie Dettori – in backing the Made In Chelsea star to be crowned King of the Jungle.

Speaking to the viewers, Danielle urged: ‘Sam, please vote for Sam… he’s such a trooper, he’s such a great guy.’

She also praised Josie Gibson, as her exit leaves the This Morning presenter as the final female campmate left in the jungle.

Danielle gushed: ‘My Josie, I’m rooting for her so much, she’s so much stronger than she thinks… she’s got this, I know she has.’
