In the cabin, Liam tells Hope she’s not safe with Thomas… not emotionally or physically. What if she says something to trigger his dark side and he runs her off a cliff too. Hope protests that he had nothing to do with Emma’s death. Liam scoffs, “What are you going to do? Are you going to marry him?!” Hope says that’s not up to him. Liam is more worried about her than ever.\
Hope protests, “Thomas is not a murder and Xander shouldn’t be running around town saying he is.” Liam muses, “He should if it’s true.” Hope repeats that it isn’t and says she knows the man Thomas is. Liam questions who Thomas really is. “Do you love him, Hope?” Hope says her feelings for Thomas are private, especially for someone who is so openly against their relationship. Liam warns her to keep her guard up for Thomas’s next round of secrets, “They are out there, and they are coming.”
In the main office at Forrester, Thomas tells Steffy that Emma’s death was a tragedy that still weighs on him, but he’s not responsible. “I didn’t kill her, Stef.” Thomas isn’t going to have Xander keep spreading these lies. It’s no secret that he was no saint back them but he’s not responsible. Steffy knows that. Thomas needs Hope to know that too. He thanks his sister for always having his back and they embrace.

In the hospital, Finn checks on Eric and tells him he’s making great progress. Eric thanks him for taking such good care of him. RJ and Luna come in and RJ takes his granddad’s hand. Finn’s glad to see Luna and notes she seems happy. He asks RJ to have Eric take it easy and they joke. Eric and RJ both tell Finn how grateful they are to him.
Eric tells Luna and RJ it’s good to see them. Luna says they did not come empty-handed and she pulls his stapler out of her purse as a reminder of what’s waiting for him. He’s glad it didn’t get tossed or forgotten. RJ says, “Neither did you, Granddad.”

In the cabin, Hope lights the candles on the dinner table and Thomas arrives. He tells her the place looks amazing and pulls her into his arms for a kiss. Hope says they have the night to themselves since the kids are with Katie. They can order in and continue collaborating. Thomas likes the sound of that. She offers him wine and he hedges, “Actually, I’m OK.” Hope thinks he seems a little off. Thomas relays that Finn pressed Steffy to talk to him about the night that Emma died. He’s relieved that it’s coming up again because it’s caused a bit of a barrier between them. Hope asks what he’s trying to tell her. Thomas loves her and doesn’t want there to be anything between them, so he’s going to tell her everything about that night.
At the hospital, Eric tells Luna he sent RJ to get water so he could have some time alone with her. She teases, “That’s sneaky,” and asks what he wanted to talk about. Eric says RJ is crazy about her. He’s a smart man, “You’re very special.” Luna thanks him for his support. Eric approves. Luna admits she’s never felt this way about anyone before and rehashes what a dream it is to work at Forrester. That would have been enough, but she got really lucky and met RJ, who has added so much to her life.
RJ enters and listens as she gushes about his love. RJ tells her he’s glad her overheard. She says she meant every word. Eric tells them they warm his heart. They ask him for a life lesson. He says life is precious. If love finds you, then give it all you’ve got.
In Finn’s office, he’s not as confident as Steffy that Thomas told her the truth. Steffy insists he’s not some kind of monster and didn’t do what Xander is accusing him of. “I know Thomas better than anyone. You need to let this go!” Steffy knows Thomas has done horrible things, but killing someone?! The thought of it is absurd. She doesn’t want to talk about this anymore. “Drop it. My brother’s not a killer.”

In the cabin, Hope admits that it still haunts her that Emma lost her life on her way to see her. She asks, “What about you?” The police cleared him but he’s now telling her there’s more to the story? Thomas says it was one of the darkest times in his life. He’s not that person anymore and will never be that person again. Hope is feeling nervous and needs him to tell her the whole truth. She tells him that if they have any chance of a future together, he must come clean. Thomas says it’s a sad thing to talk about, but he must tell her everything about that night. “Emma and I had a confrontation. She wanted to go to you and tell you about your baby and I wanted to stop her.” She left and he followed her. That’s when the accusations started flying that he’d run her off the cliff. Xander got the GPS information, but when the cops followed up, he had already erased it. He knew that with everyone knowing about him keeping the secret about Beth, what they would think. Hope says, “So you were there. So Liam and Xander and their assumptions about you somehow being involved are…” Thomas says, “Yeah.” He chased after her and they were both driving fast. Mulholland can get dangerous at night if you’re driving fast. Emma went off the road and into the canyon. He saw it happen but he didn’t cause it. Hope asks, “Did you try to help?” Thomas shakes his head, “No one could have survived that. No one could survive that crash.” He should have told Hope the truth about Beth, and he never meant to hurt her or Emma. He didn’t mean for her to die. “It’s not like Xander said. I’m not a murderer. Please tell me you can forgive me. Please.”
