Months after buying a $6 million property in Kansas City, Travis Kelce is “genuinely happy” as his romance with Taylor Swift intensifies.

Travis Kelce is ‘genuinely happy’ to be living in Kansas City, it has been reported, months after he splurged on a new $6million mansion.

Drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, Kelce has spent his entire NFL career in the Midwest city while establishing himself as one of the greatest tight ends of all time.

And after he purchased the new digs in October amid his romance with Taylor Swift, a source has told PEOPLE of Kelce’s affinity for the area.

‘He loves KC,’ the source said. ‘He’s genuinely happy there, and that’s why he chose to put down real roots.’

Kelce had felt his former home wasn’t befitting of someone dating a 12-time Grammy Award winner and decided to step it up to ease feeling ‘self-conscious’, the New York Post reported.

He bought his new pad in October not long after his relationship with Taylor Swift went public

Kelce and Swift have gotten serious as a couple and she frequently attends his games

His new pad boasts six bedrooms, six baths, and sprawls across 17,000 sq ft.

It also features amenities like a tennis and pickleball court and even its own miniature golf course, which can be seen on the beautiful lawn.

The source added to PEOPLE that Kelce, who grew up in Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati, has ‘a lot of friends’ nearby.

‘Most of his friends are just normal guys, and a lot he’s known since college,’ they said. ‘He’s a very loyal guy and a lot of his friends have been in his life for a long, long time.’

Swift has spent plenty of time in Kelce’s home since the pair made their romance public in September.

Swift and Kelce celebrated Christmas together at his $6million mansion in Kansas City

In November, with two months until her Eras tour resumed, she moved into the mansion with Kelce for weeks.

And she also spent Christmas with her beau in Kansas City, with a source revealing to DailyMail.com that Taylor’s family joined Travis and his father at the tight end’s house after the Chiefs’ December 25 loss to the Raiders.

‘Seeing their families together on such a special holiday was the best gift ever for Taylor,’ a source close to the 34-year-old Grammy Award winner told DailyMail.com.

‘She’s never had this happen before and it made the holiday the most meaningful one for her.

Swift was in attendance last weekend at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis and the Chiefs beat the Dolphins, though it’s unclear whether she will make the trip to Buffalo for the divisional round.
