When last we spoke to Mishael Morgan, she teased that anything was possible when it came to her Young & Restless alter ego. “You never know when she might show up,” the actress said, adding with a laugh, “or what kind of trouble she might decide to cause!”

Well, we now know the answer to at least one of those questions thanks to an Instagram post which the beauty used to reveal the time is rapidly approaching “Guess who’s popping in for a visit?” read the caption. The accompanying short video — perfectly timed to the driving bass of Taylor Swift’s “Ready For It” — showed a white outfit incased in a plastic bag tagged “Mishael Morgan — Amanda.”

And sure enough, when the camera pulled back, there was the actress, smiling broadly.

No word on exactly when Amanda will hit town, or for how long, but fans and co-stars alike were already buzzing. While there’s every possibility that Amanda will wind up causing trouble for ex Devon and his new lady love, Abby, her portrayer, Melissa Ordway, left a comment indicating just how excited she is about what’s to come. “Love our Amanda/Abby dynamic!”

It was back in late 2022 when Morgan decided to go from a contract player to recurring, and she had numerous reasons for doing so at the time. But when we spoke to her shortly before the debut of her BET+ movie Sworn Justic: Taken Before Christmas, it was clear that the idea of returning to the soap was on her mind.

“I would love to get in there and tell a little more story,” she told us at the time. “There’s always more to explore with Amanda.” Heaven knows viewers agree, given the way they have been clamoring for Morgan’s return pretty much since the moment she exited.

What we’re dying to now know is what, exactly, brings Amanda back to town. You’ll recall that she left after discovering that Devon and Abby had hooked up. (Worse, she found this out by walking in on the pair… with Abby’s then hubby, Chance, by her side!) Although Amanda’s family was introduced, their storyline petered out and they haven’t been seen since her departure. That said, more than a few of the folks in Genoa City have the kind of problems which could require that they call upon a good lawyer, and she’s one of the best!
