N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton topped the Box Office on week one and grossed a whopping $56.1 million.

So it’s thought that there will be equal interest in a follow up about the emergence of high profile West Coast rap artists including Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur.

Following the success of the August 2015 release, TMZ reports that a sequel is being lined up about D.P.G and featured artists Warren G and Nate Dogg, which will be called Dogg Pound 4 Life.

Daz Dillinger, one half of American hip hop duo Tha Dogg Pound which was also founded by Kurupt in 1992, reportedly told the website that the movie will pick up where N.W.A left off in 1991.

Tha D.P.G’s music will this time forge the storyline, but the 42-year-old says there will be no sensor on the violence, much like the first R-rated movie.

Suge Knight for instance, the Death Row producer once accused of killing Tupac and Biggie Smalls, is also thought to feature, owing to his inclusion in Straight Outta Compton.

Attitude: The film is not expected to shy away from violence, much like the original about N.W.A.

The foundations of N.W.A – featuring Compton hip hop artist’s Eazy-E, Ice Cube and Doctor Dre – made up the central focus of the first film.

It was produced by the latter two founding members and had a bigger opening than Eminem’s 8 Mile in 2002, that debuted with $51.2 million, and Notorious, about rapper Notorious B.I.G. that opened with $20.5 million in 2009.

The film stars O’Shea Jackson Jr.as his dad Ice Cube and Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre in the story about how N.W.A. emerged in the 1980s in response to life in the hood and police brutality in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, the second film is thought to include Dr Dre’s son Curtis Young this time, but actors in the role of Snoop and Ice Cube are as yet undecided.

TMZ have confirmed though that Ice Cube, who’s busy promoting the biopic in London this week, will not be involved with producing the follow up.

It’s release pulled in impressive audiences earlier this month, beating Mission: Imossible – Rogue Nation, at $17 million, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E., $13.5 million.
