Cristiano Ronaldo has gone viral for remembering his Real Marid days during a training session for current employers Al-Nassr.

A video of the incident was shared on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, by Saudi media personality Ali Alabdallh.

It shows Madrid’s all-time top scorer Ronaldo in training on a sunny day in the Middle East and hitting what appears to be a hard, first time pass to someone off camera.

When he receives the ball back again, the Portuguese controls with the sole of his foot and rolls it off in a futsal style.

He then takes a similar dig with the side of his foot, but appears to have hit some sort of target given he lets out a shout of “Vamos!“, meaning “Come on” or “Let’s go” in Portuguese and Spanish.

Remontada, Madrid!” Ronaldo adds, using the Spanish word for the kind of comeback Los Blancos are famous for.

Ronaldo took part in many of them after all, which include a 4-3 aggregate win over Juventus in the 2017/2018 Champions League quarterfinals, a 6-3 aggregate triumph against Bayern Munich at the same stage of the competition the season before that, and another successful come-from-behind versus Wolfsburg in the last eight during the 2015/2016 campaign.

Madrid went on to clinch Europe’s top prize in all of the mentioned terms, and also overcame crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid in the capital of Ronaldo’s homeland Lisbon to scoop La Decima in the 2013/2014 final when the chips were down.

Almost six years since leaving Madrid for Juve, swiftly following the 2017/2018 final win over Liverpool, this week’s clip shows that Ronaldo clearly hasn’t forgotten the club he represented for almost a decade after completing a then-world record $102 million (€94 million) transfer from Manchester United in 2009.

Ronaldo could be set to play in the Spanish capital once again in the coming months if recent reports from Arab journalist Saud Al-Sarami, shared by MARCA, are accurate.

This is because Al-Nassr might face Madrid in a special friendly for the inauguration of the reformed Bernabeu, with Kylian Mbappe possibly competing against his idol if he completes a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
