How much Chelsea will pay Brentford for new set-piece specialist Bernardo Cueva

Journalist Matt Law has now shared the fee Chelsea are going to have to pay Brentford in order to secure the services of their new set-piece specialist.

He took to Twitter to state that they will need to pay a relatively small fee in order to secure the services of coach Bernardo Cueva.

News broke earlier this week that they had come to an agreement to bring in Cueva, adding him to the backroom staff currently under the watch of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine has tended to stick with a similar bunch of coaches throughout his career so far, although an addition could be the catalyst to get a monkey off his back in English football.

The boss is yet to win a trophy in this country, and threw away a chance at breaking that duck earlier this year in the EFL Cup final against Liverpool.

The goal they conceded that day, a last-minute Virgil van Dijk header from a corner, will have been a particularly frustrating why to lose it for supporters, and one that they have been accustomed to this season.

Chelsea to pay £1m for Cueva

Therefore, bringing in a specialist in this area is something that a lot of fans will quickly get on board with.

Law has now shared that the Blues will not have to pay much either in order to get Cueva in.

He said: “Along with my colleague @SamJDean, I’m told that Brentford will receive £750k-£1m in compensation from Chelsea for their set-piece coach Bernardo Cueva.”

Cueva has previously worked closely with striker Ivan Toney, who has previously been mentioned as a transfer target for the Blues in the upcoming window.

It remains to been if the specialist can give any insight on if the England man would be the perfect addition to the squad at Stamford Bridge.
