Chelsea Predicted XI for next game vs Burnley… Mauricio Pochettino makes Raheem Sterling decision

Mauricio Pochettino will have learnt a lot from the performance he saw from the players who booked another place at Wembley last time out  against Leicester City.

He will have also learned a lot about how the supporters are currently feel about some of those very players, Raheem Sterling in particular.

The next game could be a big moment in terms of the manager really drawing the divide between him and the fans, or looking elsewhere to his squad for a starter.

With that said, here’s who The Chelsea Chronicle think will start the next Premier League game against Burnley after the international break.

Chelsea Predicted XI vs Burnley

After an uninspiring performance from Robert Sanchez, the boss will bring Djordje Petrovic back into the side for the return after the international break.

Malo Gusto’s impresssive form has continued way into 2024 now, and he will continue in the absence of captain Reece James.

One of the only players who has been available all season for the Blues is Axel Disasi, and he will continue despite a recent comedy own goal.

He will likely be partnered again by Trevoh Chalobah, with Levi Colwill’s return date from injury not yet known.

At left-back, Ben Chilwell will look to get through the international break unscathed after a recent injury worry.

Moises Caicedo will look to continue to keep up his improvements recently with another start in midfield.

He will be joined by Conor Gallagher, with Enzo Fernandez likely to return late after representing Argentina late in the international break.

Ahead of them, Mykhailo Mudryk will look to continue his newfound form in the number 10 role at Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling to be benhced

The brilliant Cole Palmer will of course start again, no doubt looking to add to his impressive goal and assist tallies this season.

Through the middle, Nicolas Jackson will start against a side he found the net against off the bench earlier this season.

On the opposite side, Noni Madueke will get the nod over Raheem Sterling, following both their last games seeing very different fortunes.
