Henry Cavill’s secrets to a toned physique

The research published in the British Journal of Nutrition shows that doing cardio on an empty stomach leads to a higher fat oxidation process compared to exercising after eating. This is the phase of fatty acid breakdown to reduce body fat.

For strength training exercises, Cavill is supported by personal trainer Dave Rienzi, who has worked with actor Dwayne Johnson. Rienzi states that suitable weight training equipment for Cavill and those with similar physiques is dumbbells. Dumbbell exercises help build and maintain muscle while stabilizing joints to reduce stress and the risk of injury.

Cavill often uses protein shakes in the morning, especially favoring whey protein isolate, which is almost completely devoid of lactose found in milk, making the protein absorbed more quickly by the body.

A 2020 study showed that whey protein combined with resistance training helps increase muscle mass and may alter body composition.

Cavill also frequently consumes caffeinated beverages before workouts. According to the International Society of Sports Nutrition’s journal, caffeine improves endurance and muscle strength, enhancing cognitive function.

In a recent Instagram post, Cavill discussed two commonly used morning supplements: thermogenic drinks, which enhance fat burning – aiding in weight loss more effectively.

Cavill follows a very simple diet, starting his day with a two-part breakfast. Firstly, he drinks a protein shake consisting of one and a half scoops of pure protein, a cup of oatmeal, and a handful of berries. The meal includes scrambled eggs with spinach.

His second and third meals of the day consist of chicken with curry sauce. For his fourth meal, he consumes about 113g of beef with sweet potatoes. Before bed, he also drinks two scoops of protein powder. On cheat days, he enjoys indulging in stuffed pizza.
