Four non-Warriors players are revealed by Draymond Green, who says, “They with me, I can bring the dog” to the trenches

Draymond Green reveals his ultimate team of warriors, selecting Bron and Ja Morant to be part of it.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is among the most unique stars in NBA history. While he proved on several occasions he is capable of putting up big numbers, he’s not one to ring up the scoreboard. However, he’ll be glad to fill up everything else on the stat sheet, and he’s gained a reputation as one of the best team players in the league.

But more than his versatile skills, Draymond has earned a reputation for bringing fire and brimstone to the court. He’s not one to back down from a challenge and will go head-to-head with anyone who dares cross his path.

Talking to Jamal Crawford on “The Draymond Green Show,” the Michigan native was asked which players he would choose to go into battle with. His first picks? None other than Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies and his close buddy, “The King,” LeBron James.

Players who have the same fire as him

When asked by Crawford to name four other players he’d go to war with who aren’t his teammates on the Golden State Warriors, Draymond did not hesitate to name the Lakers star and the controversial but talented Grizzlies ace.

“I’m taking Bron. I am taking Ja Morant. He ain’t backing down from nobody,” Draymond said.

Draymond explained he’s selecting these players mainly because they have the “dawg” in them. This means they possess a potent mix of swagger, competitive drive, and toughness that he believes is necessary to achieve greatness in the league.

“Here’s the thing: they with me, I can bring the dog. So, I just need guys who got the dog. Like, as long as you got it, enough for us to stand on, I’ll bring it. So I need you to be nice. So, what takes the cake is how good they are. So, I need those guys. I’ll do the other sh*t,” Green added.

Draymond has battled LeBron and Ja numerous times throughout his career, including in pivotal moments in the NBA Finals and the Playoffs. Those battles have been fiery and testy, filled with trash talk and on-court physicality. However, Green respects these players not just for their skills but also for their competitive spirit.

Draymond picked the “Joker”

Crawford, though, was caught off-guard by Draymond’s next pick: Nikola Jokic, the Denver Nuggets’ superstar and two-time MVP.

Green is familiar with how the Serbian operates on the floor, having tussled with the 7-footer numerous times, the last time in 2022 when the Warriors and Nuggets squared off in the NBA Playoffs. From those matchups, Draymond deduced that beneath that wonky exterior lies an animal that gets unleashed when the ball gets tipped off.

“I’m taking Joker. Man, that dude an animal. He is an animal. Like, he don’t talk, He don’t flaunt it. You ain’t moving him off his spot. You’re not rattling him with nothing. He an animal. I’m taking him,” Draymond said.

The many-time All-Star and 2017 Defensive Player of the Year award winner then completed his quintet with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s rising star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Gilgeous—Alexander is a silent but deadly force on the court, taking the once-rebuilding Thunder back to elite status in the Western Conference.
