It’s no secret that the past few years haven’t been kind to Klay Thompson. But after a series of injuries and disappointing seasons, the Golden State Warriors star revealed what he’s proud of the most this year.
During a recent game between the Warriors and the Utah Jazz, the Splash Brother proved to be the key piece for Golden State to go home with the 118-110 victory. In a match without Stephen Curry , Thompson played 28 minutes and dropped 32 points on 46 percent shooting from the three-point line. Rookies Trayce Jackson-Davis and Brandon Podziemski poured 16 points each, while Chris Paul added 12 points and nine assists.
The Jazz, on the other hand, saw rookie Keyonte George drop 25 points on 50 percent shooting from the field. Johnny Juzang led Utah in scoring from the bench when made 27 points, while Collin Sexton contributed 15 points and seven assists.
Golden State’s win over Utah has made their hold on the 10th spot certain as the team improved its record to 43 wins and 35 losses. The Jazz, meanwhile, has dropped out of the playoff race as their key stars, Lauri Markkanen, John Collins, and Jordan Clarkson, didn’t play.

After the game, Thompson faced the media and answered questions from them. The Warriors’ All-Star guard shared what he’s proud of this year in a post shared by Anthony Slater on X:

Over the course of 74 games this season, 60 of them as a starter for Golden State, Thompson has averaged 17.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He has also shot 43 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep during that period. While these numbers are respectable, they are a far cry from the All-Star’s previous seasons where he was a menace on both offensive and defensive ends of the court.
With the regular season about to end, Thompson will have a chance to make another run in the playoffs, granted they get past the Play-In Tournament. If the Warriors do, expect a lot of eyes to be on the Splash Brother to see how he’ll redeem himself in the postseason.
