A property previously owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is now heading back to the auction market. The couple reportedly bought the New Orleans mansion for $3.5 million, and it was under their name from 2006 to 2016 before they sold it for $1.6 million less than its listed cost.Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)

As per Mansion Global, the property was listed for $3.475 million most recently. The auction is expected to begin on December 11 with a starting bid of just $1 million. Interluxe Auctions is handling the sale and auction of the mansion.

It also became the winner of HGTV’s ultimate house hunt this year in the category of “Downtown Dwellings.” The house features seven bedrooms, five baths, and two powder rooms, along with a  balcony overlooking the street to enjoy the city’s famous parades and processions and a two-story guest house.

Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Bought the Mansion Shortly After They Started Dating

Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie were first linked after their 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Soon, they were together and reportedly bought the New Orleans mansion in 2006. It was also around the time when the Bullet Train star was establishing his Make it Right foundation in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina to aid in the environmentally friendly rebuilding of houses.Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie

However, after nearly nine years of owning the property, they put it on sale in the market reportedly for $6.5 million. Six months after the listing, they dropped the asking price by $850,000, bringing it down to $5.65 million. The property was ultimately sold for $4.9 million in 2016, and listing agents called it a fair deal for both parties.

The president and CEO of Interluxe Auctions, Scott Kirk, has described the mansion as an extraordinary property, saying that it is a “blend of history, modern amenities, and prime location.” The mansion also includes a chef’s kitchen with a large butcher’s block island and a custom marble pantry.

The listing also states that the house features amenities like a home gym, an elevator, a workshop, and a gated carriage-style driveway illuminated by gas lamps. It also has a private courtyard with a pool and fountain.
