Cristiano Ronaldo did not play in the away trip against Istiklol, due to a slight neck injury. Coach Luis Castro wants “number 7” to fully recover before the match against Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on December 8.
In the 32nd minute, Abdulrahman Ghareeb made a mistake and gave the opening goal to Istiklol. After a misdirected pass from the Saudi winger, Alisher Dzhalilov shot a low shot from 25 meters past goalkeeper Raghed Najjar.

After the break, Al Nassr attacked more. In the 50th minute, Ghareeb scored an atonement goal and equalized for the away team. After the right wing cross and the goalkeeper’s break, the 26-year-old striker blocked the ball with his chest and then scored twice into the Tajikistan team’s net.

The Istiklol draw did not affect Al Nassr’s position at the top of AFC Champions League Group E. Ronaldo’s team finished the group stage with 14 points after six matches, six points ahead of second-placed Persepolis. Al Duhail ranked third with seven points, while Istiklol ranked last with three points. In this group, Al Nassr is the only team to win tickets to the 1/8 round.
This season, Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 26 matches for Al Nassr. He helped the team enter the 1/8 round of the AFC Champions League, is ranked second in the Saudi Pro League after 15 rounds and won the Arab Club Champions Cup.
