ua Lipaย has defended going to a strip club withย Lizzoย after the flute-playing singer’s dancers made THOSE claims about what happened in an Amsterdam ๐ e๐ฅ club.
Appearing on the cover of the latestย Vogueย magazine, where she bleaches her brows before stripping down to a racy bodysuit, Dua, 28, saysย modern day women are constantly ‘slut-shamed for everything and anything.’
The hitmaker enjoyed a star-studded night out with Lizzo at aย strip club after the GRAMMYS back in 2020ย and has spoken candidly about the backlash she received after she was accused of supporting the exploitation of women
She told the publication in an interview carried out prior to the dancers making their claims: ‘Obviously, Iโm against any kind of exploitation. But I also see this endless criticism of womenโs choices. Itโs like navigating a minefield from the very beginning.
‘Weโre slut-shamed for everything and anything. Does anyone think of peopleโs own experiences before attacking them? So, for me, itโs really important to respect womenโs choices, whatever they are.’

Lizzo is planning to sue three of her former back-up dancers who are currently suing her over claims of ๐ e๐ฅual harassment.
Crystal Williams, 24, Noelle Rodriguez, 25 and Arianna Davis, 26 are accusing the Grammy-winner, 35, of ๐ e๐ฅual and racial harassment and creating a hostile work environment – alleging the plus-sized pop icon dragged them along to degrading ๐ e๐ฅ shows while touring Europe in February and March.
Lizzo has vehemently denied the allegations against her in the lawsuit which accused her of pressuring the employees to touch nude performers at a club in Amsterdam, among other claims that included weight shaming.
New photos obtained byย DailyMail.comย have emerged of the trio happily posing with topless performers backstage at the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris on March 5 2023 – weeks after they claimed Lizzo pressured them to eat bananas and catch dildos from performers’ vaginas during a February night out in Amsterdam’s infamous red-light district.
Lizzo’s attorney Marty Singer toldย DailyMail.comย the plaintiffs were ‘happily cavorting backstage’ and ‘gleefully reveling’ despite claiming in their lawsuit they were forced to go against their will.’
Moving onto the #MeToo movement, it seems Dua still feels women have a long way to go and in some ways it hasn’t impacted women’s daily lives.
She admitted: ‘#MeToo or not, itโs still scary to be a woman and walk down an empty street alone at night on your way home.
‘I have so many memories of times when you get your keys ready in your hand, or you grab your bag, or you pretend to be on the phoneโฆ I donโt know if that will ever change.’

Strong: Despite the pressures of the industry and social media the star has never been afraid to be herself after she left a modelling job after a guy told her to lose weight
Prior to her chart-topping success, Dua began modelling at 16-years-old while also working in restaurants and nightclubs.
The star discussed how she believes it’s without a doubt harder to be a teenager todayย because of ‘social media’s obsession with a perfect image…and the anxiety that causes.’
‘When I think of my teenage years, I didnโt care about my looks or my makeup. With the first covers I posted on YouTube, I wasnโt thinking about my image.’
Dua clearly knew her own mind as a teenager as she revealed that when a guy told her she needed to lose weight at the start of her modelling career, she chose to leave rather than put up with it.
‘I felt great the way I was, I had no reason to change,’ she confessed.
‘Of course, I had insecurities. Times when I questioned my appearance. I know how destabilizing it can be to feel not good enough.’

But working in that industry of modelling and nightclubs so young didn’t phase the star who admitted that while her parents were slightly nervous she was ‘rather strong’.
‘I was the mum of my group of friends. When we went out, I looked out for the other girls. If there was any weird behaviour, Iโd step in. And when a guy would tell me, โGive us a smile, loveโฆโ Iโd respond, โDonโt talk to me. You donโt get to tell me when to smile.โ’
Dua has becomeย well known for her daring outfitsย and she isn’t afraid to look ๐ e๐ฅy, yet she confessed that how she chooses to present herself doesn’t shock her family and even her grandparents are open to it.
‘They are modern grandparents. They have evolved with the times, and I think they are most of all proud of me. Family is so precious.’
The star,ย who is now dating Rita Ora’s ex Romain Gavras, 42, is in no hurry to have children as she admitted her only baby is her music: ‘The only baby Iโm thinking about is my new album.’
‘I think women want to do things at their own pace, and not feel guilty for thinking of themselves. For me, when the moment is right, I will know. But, until then, I have other priorities. I want to continue making the most of my youth,’ she added.
