Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy came to the defence of quarterback Patrick Mahomes over the sideline outburst against officials late in the fourth quarter of a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season.

Nagy, 45, was asked why Mahomes doesn’t show frustration at his wide receivers like many elite quarterbacks from the past have done. The answer suggests the Chiefs QB does yell at WRs in private.

“That’s probably one of Pat’s strengths. He’s so good at being able to lead without having to show a million different ways of how he does it for three hours on game day.”

The Chiefs lead the entire NFL in dropped passes and currently boast an 8-5 record, but Mahomes’ sideline outburst was completely rare. In fact, he later apologized and said it was not a good example for children.

Mahomes’ leadership has led him to a pair of Super Bowl MVP awards and many more accolades, so don’t count out the Chiefs just yet.
