Selena Gomez has shut down body-shaming comments on Saturday after attending the 2023 Golden Globes.

The actress, 30, was nominated for Best Television Actress – Musical/Comedy Series for Only Murders In The Building but lost to Quinta Brunson in Abbott Elementary.

She flashed her ample cleavage in a plunging strapless wine-hued Valentino gown which featured a daring thigh-high split.

But the singer received comments from online trolls regarding her physical appearance while posing for the cameras at the event.

During an Instagram Live video, Selena addressed the critics while chatting with her 9-year-old sister, Gracie Elliott Teefey.

She told her followers: ‘I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,’ before turning her head to Gracie, asking for her opinion, ‘right?’

After Gracie appeared to agree with her, Selena said, ‘But we don’t care’ before bursting into laughter.

The Lose You to Love Me hitmaker has had a complicated relationship with social media and even deleted it from her phone in 2019.

Selena revealed that she no longer had the app, as negative comments on her posts had left her feeling ‘depressed’.

The star looked incredible in the garment which boasted dramatic purple puff sleeves and a sweeping train.

She boosted her height in a pair of black strappy heels, while accessorising with silver drop earrings.

The Golden Globes uploaded an adorable video of Gracie running onto the red carpet to join Selena for a photo.

The songstress was 20 when her mother Mandy Teefey welcomed Gracie with her partner Brian, who is Selena’s stepfather.

Selena spoke of their close bond in August. She said in TaTaTu’s video podcast: ‘She puts things in perspective. I have to basically watch this little person grow into a human being.

‘There’s no better feeling in the world. I kind of feel like a parent in a way.’
