Sharon has been through one heck of a journey this past year on The Young and the Restless. Her tangle with a very much alive and even more unhinged Cameron Kristen landed her not just a new outlook on life, but a new company to make her own. At the same time, she proved that the sparks are still very much capable of flying when it comes to Nick.

But for every win, it feels like there’s a setback — like her romance with Chance that hasn’t quite been the same since Summer set her sights on him, too.

Now, as Sharon enters the new year, she’s got a few things to figure out. Luckily, she’s also got an entire episode all to herself on Friday, January 5! Sharon Case talked with Soap Opera Digest about the coming episode that took her completely by surprise! In fact, she shared, she only learned it was happening when she read through the script and realized she was on every page!

It’s not, though, your run of the mill episode, so much as a trip through Sharon’s dreamscape as she tries to take stock of where she is! “Sharon is ambitious and definitely an overachiever,” Case told Digest, which probably means she’s got a whole lot to work through — and plenty of folks in her life to face as well!

Though we don’t know exactly who else will be in the episode, the actress promises us that their appearances are going to be a blast. “The circumstances with each of those people were specific and there’s lot of fun stuff,” she explained. “The vignettes I was doing with the other characters, you would never imagine in a million years. It was just some really fun, off-the-wall stuff. We all had a great time with it.”

But what does it all mean and what brought it on? That we’ll just have to wait and see. This past year pulled Sharon out of the funk she’d been in since Rey’s death, and if this coming year is starting out with a long look at herself, it’s already shaping up to be a life-changing one. Will Sharon fight for Chance or decide she and Nick are meant to be? Will she throw her all into the new company and becoming a corporate force to be reckoned with or decide Crimson Lights is where she belongs?

All Case would let slip is that “there is one or two things you feel you’ve learned to grasp and you’re going to hang onto,” after a dream. “But there are still a lot of questions, too. The questions that linger, that didn’t get answered for you, are still good because they set you on a track to solving those things.”

Hey, maybe that’s where Sharon will end up: Solving not just her own problems, but others as well! After all, in Genoa City, the sky’s the limit. All we know for sure is that if she sets her mind on something, there’s a darn good chance she’ll get it! For a time, at least.
