Barbie was the highest-grossing movie of 2023 with a whopping $1.4billion global total and now three of the biggest stars involved in the film are teasing the possibility of turning it all into a musical.

Actresses Margot Robbie and America Ferrera were joined by director Greta Gerwig  on the red carpet of the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Thursday night.

Since there were a few iconic musical numbers in the blockbuster film, the trio were asked by Entertainment Tonight if a full on singing and dancing feature was on the way.

Robbie, 33,  was quick to answer as she said: ‘Trust me, this isn’t the first… this is not the first time we’ve thought of it, yeah.

‘It’s so fun when you can turn everything into a big, crazy musical number. Everything is infinitely more fun.’

Greta, 40, who directed the flick agreed with the lead actress in the film as she also shared her admiration for musicals.

She said: ‘A lot. I’m deeply [in] love [with] musicals. Also, America’s performed in musicals!

‘I really love musicals. I mean, nothing would make me happier. So, I would love a musical.’

America, 39, played a character from ‘the real world’ in the flick in Mattel employee Gloria whom she said she feels like ‘has a number in her.’

$145M-budget Barbie amassed an eye-popping $1.4B at the global box office and scored an 88% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Margot and America were there in support of Greta who they presented with the prestigious Director Of The Year at the ceremony.

In a nod to her billion-dollar Barbie movie’s bubblegum aesthetic, Margot, put on a leggy display in a sizzling hot pink polka dot dress.

The actress turned heads as she hit the red carpet in the dress, which featured a plunging neckline to show off her cleavage, and was adorned with floral accents.
