Who Is Binks?

When looking at the song Binks no Sake, the very title gives away the fact that Binks was actually a real person who existed long ago. From Shanks, Luffy heard the song, and according to him, pirates of the old used to sing the song all the time. Brook, who is even older than Shanks and far surpasses the likes of Roger in terms of age, used to sing the song all the time with his friends. This means that the song about Binks is so old that it touches almost a century, and, even then, fans know that it has been passed down among pirates for ages. This means this isn’t just a shanty and that instead, it is a proper anthem that has been popular among pirates for generations now.

When one listens to the lyrics of Binks no Sake, the very first question that arises is about the identity of this person, who he was, what he did, and what exactly the adventure was all about. It is clear that Binks no Sake is a song about pirates. If one assumes Binks to have existed long ago, but particularly in the Void Century of the One Piece world, then the lyrics tell the fans the true tale about this individual. For instance, the song clearly implies that there were pirates long ago in the One Piece world, just as they are today, and that they sailed the seas and went on jolly adventures all the time. They were to deliver Binks’s brew, which implies that this specific alcohol was brewed by Binks or that it was somehow special. Perhaps, it was special because it connected people all over the world.

Looking deeper into it, the song also tells about the coming of a disaster as it warns those who sail the seas about the perils of the ocean. Those who challenge its might face hardships and could even be crushed, however, tomorrow’s sun is never far away. Even if the sailors end up losing their lives, a brighter tomorrow will always be there for them. At the end of the day, everyone has to turn into a skeleton anyway, however, the endless tales will forever remain as a Laugh Tale. Just by looking at this song, it is quite clear that there is an implication made at the One Piece here and the Final Island, where Roger found the One Piece.

Yet, it is clear that in Binks’s Sake, the group of pirates who sail the seas dare to challenge it, and in the end, are crushed, however, they still persevere, and despite losing, their will is inherited by someone else and their tales of joy and adventures and, overall, their history, is passed down. The tale of adventures is the Laugh Tale and their history holds the secret to the One Piece itself. That is what they left on the final island and that is likely where Binks’s Sake is as well.

Binks, Joyboy, And Nika

Now, the question arises as to who this individual named Binks is. While this might be hard for fans to figure out at first, the very easiest answer is that Binks is the same person as Joyboy and Nika. For one, fans already know that Joyboy is not the name of a person, and that instead, it is a title that was given to that individual long ago in the past. At the same time, it is quite clear for the fans to see that Joyboy and Nika are the same person. This was confirmed by Zunesha himself, who mentioned that Joyboy had returned once Luffy awakened the Nika fruit. This means that the former Joy Boy was Nika, however, neither Joy Boy nor Nika was his real name.

This means that the real name of this individual is still unknown to this day, however, when one ties it back to the sea shanty, then the name of this individual becomes quite clear. This person was none other than Binks and was a member of the D Family. Binks was the first Nika and the person who attained the title of Joy Boy by helping those around him. Binks fought against the World Government, and when he did that, he had many allies by his side.

Binks’s brew connected these allies to him and, together, they forged a bond that was so strong that it traversed ages themselves. This bond that they had remained, even though they ended up losing to those who created the World Government. That is their story at Laugh Tale and that is what awaits at the Final Island for the fans to see when Luffy and the group get there.

Binks And His Treasure – The One Piece

At the Final Island, there is most definitely going to be the story of Binks and his allies. Fans might even see Binks’s brew, which is the sake that he brewed himself, being present on this island. Once the crew drink the sake, the fans might actually get to see Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates find out what happened in the Void Century, how they were destroyed, and how their tales still remain on this particular island up to this day. This is going to be a beautiful addition to the story that fans will absolutely love.

While their story is certainly going to be a part of the One Piece, along with information on the Ancient Weapons, the true treasure itself is still unknown and fans do not know what it is. It could simply be Binks’s sake, however, it could also be something much more than that. Oda himself confirmed in the past that the treasure is something that can actually be considered a prize and not an abstract concept. Thankfully, One Piece is already in the final saga and it won’t take fans long to figure out what the One Piece truly is and what the person named Binks left behind. They only need to wait for Luffy to gather the last Road Poneglyph and get to this island to finally piece together the ancient history and recognize what happened to the world.
