Jude Bellingham is bossing Spain but Ronaldo’s debut season had everyone terrified of young star

Everyone has been comparing Jude Bellingham to the wrong Ronaldo.

The English megastar has kicked off his Real Madrid career in astonishing form, shattering goal records when he was never previously relied upon for scoring during his career.

Things have slowed down slightly recently following a shoulder dislocation, but his 17 goals and six assists in just 24 appearances have already earned him Galactico status.

Securing the Golden Boy and Kopa trophies at the age of 20, Bellingham has now earned his first trophy in Madrid’s white with the Spanish Super Cup.

The accolades keep rushing in, with Bellingham already projected to be an England great, while his manager Carlo Ancelotti has been comparing him favourably to Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.

However, there’s one player who took LaLiga by an even bigger surprise as a teenager, Brazilian icon Ronaldo.

Moving to Barcelona from PSV in 1996, ‘The Phenomenon’ turned 20 in Spain like Bellingham, but did so while scoring a staggering 47 goals in 49 games.

Of those, 34 of them came in LaLiga, earning the Catalans a first league title in eight years, and he made it a trio of trophies in the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana.

English coaching legend Sir Bobby Robson was famously left with his hands on his head in utter disbelief at Ronaldo, who went on to add the Ballon d’Or to his Golden Boot.

Even more shockingly, though, was how short-livid Ronaldo’s Barca spell was, with him achieving all of these feats in just a single season.

Ronaldo was an unstoppable force

Contract negotiations failed in the summer and Ronaldo joined Inter Milan for a world record £19million.

The icon stunned in Italy, and back in Spain with Real Madrid, but even at his best, nothing was quite like his debut season, which may never be bettered, even by Bellingham.
