‘Absolute rubbish’… Chelsea legend John Terry completely debunks story posted about him yesterday

Chelsea legend John Terry has today taken to social media to look to debunk a story written about him in the press in recent days.

He took to Twitter to state that there was no truth in any reports that he was going to be on the move into another coaching role in the coming weeks.

Terry has some coaching experience under his belt working as part of the backroom staff for Dean Smith when he has had numerous roles.

This most recently saw him take a coaching role at Leicester City, however his presence was not enough for them to avoid relegation.

It is perhaps a surprise that he has not been offered anything at Chelsea up to now, given the fact that his admiration for the club is not a secret to anyone.

Pundit Jamie O’Hara recently asked the question as to why he was not involved in Mauricio Pochettino’s current setup in an attempt to inspire some more desire from the current squad.

Terry rubbishes reports

He even claimed himself that he had hoped for a call from Frank Lampard when he was in charge of the club last season in a temporary role.

This didn’t occur obviously, and he has since bided his time before making his first real steps into the proper management game.

A report yesterday stated that he was being shortlisted to be part of the coaching staff assembled by Troy Deeney at Forest Green Rovers, with them languishing towards the bottom of the table right now.

However, Terry was quick to come out and rubbish the claims.

He said: “Seriously where do they get these stories from! Absolute RUBBISH.”

Terry will likely instead be keeping a close eye on the Blues in the coming weeks, especially when they return to action in the upcoming days in the EFL Cup.

He was one of those in the media who was quick to comment after the dire first leg defeat against Middlesbrough, and therefore will be as eager as anyone to see if they can turn things around at Stamford Bridge and book their place at Wembley.
