Mbappe to Real: Superstar loses 100 million euros, PSG targets teammate Ronaldo to replace him

Striker Kylian Mbappe accepted to lose 100 million euros in loyalty bonuses from PSG to join Real Madrid.

French newspaper Le Parisien and ESPN simultaneously reported that the long-running story related to Mbappe ‘s future has ended. Accordingly, the 25-year-old player decided to leave PSG to join Real Madrid at the end of the season. More detailed information about Mbappe’s expected contract length with the Spanish Royal team was not given.

ESPN added that Mbappe will announce his decision next week. The source also revealed that PSG offered to increase the French striker’s salary to 72 million euros/year, but the 25-year-old still refused. Mbappe even accepted to lose 100 million euros in loyalty bonuses to leave the Paris team as a free player.

Meanwhile, Eurosport said that PSG has accepted the prospect of losing Mbappe completely after many unsuccessful renewal efforts, even though they had to pay Monaco up to 180 million euros to invest in him. The defending Ligue 1 champion identified AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as the top target to fill the void left by Mbappe. The Portuguese international is currently valued at 90 million euros by Transfermarkt.

When contacted by Associated Press, PSG declined to comment and Real Madrid did not respond to the latest rumors about Mbappe’s future.

Real Madrid has failed twice in previous attempts to recruit Mbappe. Remember that in the summer of 2022, the French striker seemed to have joined Real Madrid, but he suddenly “turned around” and extended his contract to stay at PSG at the last minute.

The 1-year contract that Mbappe signed with PSG at that time, included an option to extend for another year. But after the 2022/23 season ended, the 25-year-old player informed the PSG board of directors of his decision not to renew his contract.

Since then, Mbappe has remained largely tight-lipped about his future, although in January, the French striker brought a glimmer of hope to PSG fans that he could stay at the club. Paris.

This season, Mbappe has scored 29 goals for PSG on all fronts, raising the record for scoring the most goals in the French team’s history to 241 goals in just 288 matches.
