Rihanna Looks Like Rock Star Royalty in the Edgiest Black Leather Trench Coat

No one does cool like Rihanna. With her latest look, she went from ultimate biker It girl to biker royalty with a regal rock-star coat.

The “Diamonds” singer was captured in images published by the Daily Mail stepping out in Santa Monica on Friday night, for dinner at celebrity hot spot Giorgio Baldi in an attention-demanding fit that was statement piece after statement piece. For starters, she looked every inch of the queen that she is in an oversize, sweeping shiny black leather trench coat that featured a dramatic flared collar, huge square pockets, and silver hardware. She layered the grand custom Alexander Wang centerpiece, which trailed behind her like a cape, over a black low-cut top and matching pants, which she tucked into grungy, slouchy black boots that came almost up to mid-calf and were covered in strings of chrome sequins.

Keeping the dark theme going, Rihanna accented her ensemble with an elongated black leather bag with a silver chain strap, and brought the bling in the form of a glitzy diamond tennis necklace and huge diamond statement earrings. For a final touch, she donned a black baseball cap with the word Ross in red lettering and a white graphic over her straight, honey-blonde hair, and glammed up with a rich glossy mauve pink lip and a sultry smoky eye.

The Fenty founder’s outing comes on the heels of her trip last month to Paris for Couture Week, where she, of course, showed out in jaw-dropping, head-swiveling ensembles back to back to back. To cap off Fashion Week, Rihanna looked like a luxe, cozy winter dream in two vintage ensembles.

The first was a black custom Saint Laurent dress that featured tight ruching detailing along the center, over a mesh strapless bra from her lingerie company, Savage X Fenty. The high point of the outfit, however, was her vintage velvet Vivienne Westwood coat, hailing from the designer’s Fall/Winter 1992 collection; it featured double-breasted buttons and dramatic fur trim along the sleeves and the collar.

For the second ensemble, the superstar cut a luxurious figure in a wine-colored knitted and crocheted lace bodycon dress from John Galliano’s Fall/Winter 1999 line, which featured an oversize hood and collar. Rihanna paired the piece with a lush brown fur coat, croc-embossed strappy Tom Ford pumps, and tortoiseshell sunglasses from Gucci.

The Albanese government’s radical plan to double taxes on Australians with more than $3million in superannuation looks dead in the water because it doesn’t have the votes to pass the Senate.
