Dolly Parton sweetly congratulates Beyoncé on chart-topping success.

Dolly Parton gave her seal of approval on Beyoncé‘s new country album on Thursday.

The 78-year-old country legend gushed about being a ‘big fan’ of the superstar, 42, and welcomed her to the genre with open arms with a sweet message on Instagram.

Over a blank background, she congratulated her and said she was eagerly awaiting the entire album, which Beyoncé announced during a Super Bowl LVIII commercial.

This comes just days after as the 32-time Grammy winner became the first Black woman to top the country charts with her single Texas Hold ‘Em.

‘I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album,’ Parton wrote in her post. ‘So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single.’

‘Can’t wait to hear the full album!’ she wrote before signing off with ‘Love, Dolly’.

In the midst of ‘racist and hateful’ remarks towards Beyoncé, Parton publicly declared her support of the music icon as she has also ventured into another genre

Earlier this month, Beyoncé released two surprise singles on February 11.

Texas Hold ‘Em debuted at number two on the all-genre Hot 100 while her second single, 16 Carriages, opened at number nine.

On the country music chart, Texas Hold ‘Em began at number nine while 16 Carriages started at number 38.

Parton’s show of support comes after Beyoncé’s fans called out an Oklahoma radio station for refusing to play her new music.

One fan shared a post on X, writing that they requested Texas Hold ‘Em at their local radio station and was declined.

Subsequently, Beyoncé’s fanbase started flooding the radio station until they complied.

In the midst of ‘racist and hateful’ remarks towards Beyoncé, Parton publicly declared her support of the music icon as she has also ventured into another genre.

Parton herself recently marked her first foray into another genre as she dropped her 49th album Rockstar.

She released Rockstar, a collaborative project with a variety of rock legends, in November 2023.

It became her highest-charting LP ever, debuting at number three as well as topping the rock and country charts.

The album features cover songs as well as original music from Parton with musical guests such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, Linda Ronstadt, and goddaughter Miley Cyrus.

Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated country album, Act II — a follow-up album to her 2022 LP Renaissance — will be released on March 29.
