LeBron James is the longevity kind in NBA history, competing at a superstar level for 21 seasons. James usurps the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in this sense, as James has been at the top of his game for so long as he is the oldest player in the league. James is the only player standing from the 2003 Draft Class which also included Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony, a testament to his greatness in terms of longevity.
After the 2003 Draft Class, we collected the active NBA players from every draft class until the 2023 Draft which saw French star Victor Wembanyama go No. 1 overall to the San Antonio Spurs. It will be very interesting to see the NBA players who are left in the league from each class.
2003 NBA Draft Class – 1 Player
– LeBron James
LeBron James isn’t just a basketball player; he’s a living legend who defies the boundaries of time and expectation. Hailing from the 2003 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the first overall pick, James has not only surpassed his peers but has set a standard that few can even dream of reaching.
At 39 years old, an age where many athletes hang up their jerseys, LeBron continues to dominate the court with a blend of skill, athleticism, and basketball IQ that remains virtually unmatched. There is a reason why he is the all-time leading scorer, after all.
The standout player from 2004 is Dwight Howard, as he has taken his talents overseas and is a star player for the Mets de Guaynabo of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. At 38 years old, Howard likely won’t get an NBA job again and no other player from this draft class is currently playing and that includes 2015 Finals MVP Andre Iguodala.
2005 NBA Draft Class – 1 Player

In a draft class that also included Deron Wiliams, Andrew Bogut, and Lou Williams the lone player from the 2005 draft class, Chris Paul, stands as a testament to enduring excellence. Even if he is getting older (38) and is past his best, Paul is still one of the best leaders in the NBA.
