Diallo has been limited to just three first-team appearances this season after returning from a knee injury in December.

He was once again an unused substitute on Saturday as United beat Everton at Old Trafford.

His X bio was changed to read “this will all end” in French, with his profile picture and cover photos showing snaps of Diallo on loan at Sunderland last season.

Just one post remained since his return to United last summer, a changing room video with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo from Saturday.

Meanwhile, he deleted all but three posts from his Instagram feed.

The three remaining snaps were all from his time with the Black Cats last term.

They included one of him kissing the Sunderland badge and another of him celebrating a goal at the Stadium of Light.

Diallo, who scored 14 goals and provided four assists for Sunderland last season as they made the Championship play-offs, then appeared to deactivate all his accounts.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano later posted a tweet apparently quoting Diallo from Snapchat.

It read: “I’ve deactivated my social media for a month just to focus on Ramadan. Stop the hatred, there’s nothing wrong with what I did.

“It’s holy month for me and social media is a place where there are bad things to see during fasting.”

The exciting young wideman had been linked with a return to the club on loan in January with his United future uncertain.

However, the 21-year-old – who joined United from Atalanta in 2021 on deal worth up to £35m – remained with the Red Devils beyond the transfer deadline.

Diallo has since been linked with summer loan moves to both Birmingham and Watford.

The Ivorian has a year remaining on his United contract, with the club holding the option to extend his deal by a further year.
