Nusjuro could very well beat Mihawk for the title of greatest swordsman in One Piece.
One Piece’s final saga has introduced fans to quite a lot of powerful villains, such as the mighty Five Elders. In the Egghead Island arc, Oda unexpectedly introduced all five of them in battle at the same time, showcasing their powerful transformations. Expectedly, every single member of the Five Elders impressed the fans greatly, and their strength, as well as their abilities have proven to be mind-blowing.
Every member of the Five Elders holds a specific power up their sleeve, and given that they are all Yokai, they work very differently when compared to regular Devil Fruit users. Apart from their Yokai abilities, they also have other skills in their arsenal. One of the most interesting individuals among the Elders is V. Nusjuro, who fans know to be a master swordsman. When it comes to the swordsman in the One Piece world, Dracule Mihawk always comes into the picture, and it is quite interesting for the fans to see who the stronger one between Mihawk and V. Nusjuro truly is.
Mihawk’s Strength And Status As World’s Strongest Swordsman
Dracule Mihawk is the man who holds the title of the world’s strongest swordsman right now. Mihawk is an incredibly powerful individual, and he has a bounty of 3.596 billion berries. This is an astonishingly high bounty, and one that he certainly deserves. This essentially puts Mihawk in the same bracket as the likes of the Four Emperors, and it just goes to show that he is one of the most powerful people in the entire world. Mihawk does not possess any devil fruit ability, however, he certainly does have a powerful black blade, called Yoru. This blade belongs to one of the Supreme Grade swords, and it is said to be a very mighty blade.
Mihawk wields this blade with incredible grace and his skills with it are absolutely immense. In terms of sword skills alone, Mihawk is said to be even greater than Shanks. His swordplay is truly on an entirely different level when compared to a regular swordsman of the One Piece world and he is surely a very powerful individual. While fans do not know much about his abilities at the moment, it goes without saying that Mihawk most definitely has a powerful Haki too. Although it has not been explicitly stated in the series, Mihawk most definitely has access to Conqueror’s Haki, and he likely possesses the power to infuse it as well. These abilities alone make Mihawk one of the strongest individuals in the entirety of One Piece, and fabs have seen his incredible displays from him on many occasions already.
V. Nusjuro’s Strength
When it comes to St V. Nujsuro, fans know that he is an incredibly overpowered fighter as well. V. Nusjuro possesses tremendous strength, and that is expected, given that he’s a member of the Five Elders. Just like the other Elders, he has the power of a Yokai as well. In his case, he has the power of the Bakotsu Yokai. This power allows Nusjuro to transform into an absolutely massive skeletal horse. The true powers of the skeletal horse have not been seen in the series yet, however, what fans know for sure already is that he has the power to summon the chill of the underworld, similar to how Brook does it. His freezing powers make him one of the most fiercest fighters in the One Piece world already.
However, that certainly is not the extent of his powers. Fans know for a fact that V. Nusjuro is also a brilliant swordsman. In fact, the suffix of his name, “Juro,” implies that he has connections to the land of Wano. In terms of swordplay, fans know that he wields a sword that could be one of the Supreme Grade swords as well, and this blade is most likely the Shodai Kitetsu. This sword is known to be cursed, and the fact that he has tamed it just goes to show that he’s a brilliant swordsman who has immensely powerful willpower. On Egghead, he was able to slice through over 25 Mark 3 Pacifistas in the blink of an eye, and that is truly remarkable.
On top of having these incredible powers, V. Nusjuro also has brilliant Haki. He, just like all the other Elders, has access to all three types of Haki, and in his case, he most likely also has access to Conqueror’s Haki Infusion, as is expected of the Elders. On top of that, fans know for a fact that the Elders possessed tremendously overpowered Haki. Jinbe indirectly drew a comparison between the Haki of Mars and Shanks. Knowing that Shanks might just be the strongest Haki user alive, this in itself is proof of the fact that Nusjuro possesses tremendously overpowered Haki which might be greater than that of Mihawk. While this already makes him a fiercely powerful individual, then, one also needs to consider the aspect of immortality. Saint V. Nusjuro is immortal, just like all the other Elders and fans have seen a confirmation of this on Egghead.
Could V. Nujsuro Be Stronger Than Mihawk?
The question of whether V. Nusjuro could be stronger than Mihawk is a valid one. Fans know Mihawk to be the strongest swordsman in the world, and one might wonder as to how V. Nusjuro could be stronger than him if Mihawk has the title. However, what fans need to consider is the fact that Nusjuro does not involve himself in the happenings of the world. He is a god of the world, and, as such, his strength has always been hidden up until now. V. Nusjuro could very well possess skill that exceeds Mihawk, and nobody could have known about it, given that he has almost never fought any battles, especially not since the Void Century concluded.
A major problem that fans might have with V. Nusjuro being stronger than Mihawk is it diminishing Zoro’s dream. However, this problem can easily be avoided if Zoro fights Nusjuro after becoming the World’s Strongest Swordsman. After Zoro beats Mihawk, he will attain the title of the strongest, however, if the Great War is fought after, then Zoro will need a worthy opponent. At that point, Zoro’s next opponent should be an individual stronger than Mihawk, and potentially the man who even rivaled and matched or defeated Ryuma. This individual could be none other than Nusjuro. This way, Mihawk’s title of the World’s Strongest Swordsman and Zoro’s dream would still hold its value, and V. Nusjuro would end up becoming the strongest and serve a purpose after Zoro attains the title of the strongest. By all means, at the moment, it is clear to the fans that V. Nusjuro is the stronger of the two.
