She said that one of the reasons she waited so long to have 𝑠e𝑥 was because she believed that “as a big girl, no one would ever truly find me 𝑠e𝑥ually attractive.” She said that she was “almost at my highest weight” at the time.

In her recently published memoir Rebel Rising, the 44-year-old Australian actress writes about her past relationships in a chapter titled “Late Bloomer,” revealing that Gooch was her first 𝑠e𝑥ual partner.

‘And, Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes I lost my virginity to you,’ she writes in the memoir.

When the Pitch Perfect actress lost her virginity to Mickey in a suite at the Greenwich Hotel in New York during the 2016 filming of How To Be Single—a film in which Mickey, an aspiring actor, also earned a small role—she said she “high-fived myself.”

Rebel explained how she was motivated to have 𝑠e𝑥 after learning her mother had breast cancer, writing: ‘…life IS short. I didn’t want to live my life without experiencing 𝑠e𝑥. Experiencing love. I put it out into the universe that I was finally ready. I was going to feel the fear and just do it.

‘I was going to slut it up with the next guy that came along – who also seemed like a suitable marriage candidate.’

Rebel gushed about their strong chemistry and admitted that Mickey, the multimillionaire banker Michael Gooch’s son, was unaware that it was her first time.

According to Rebel, Mickey ‘pursued me’ and was wealthy enough to follow her all around the world when her film career took off.

But it wasn’t until she moved to New York and moved in with him after a month of courtship that she felt comfortable enough to ask him to take a plane and stay in a luxurious hotel room with her.

Rebel, in an open letter about their first date, disclosed that the previous evening she had used a vibrator “in preparation” and watched pornographic movies.

She later added that once they had had 𝑠e𝑥 she wanted to be with Mickey ‘all the time,’ quipping: ‘I’m a late starter and now I want to be MVP.’

‘I’d imagine having 𝑠e𝑥 and being intimate and everything would always be in my head,’ she continued. ‘Now I’m someone who lives much more in my body. And I’m loving it. Now I actually have a boyfriend and he’s handsome and rich to boot.’

Rebel and Mickey ended up dating for six months but the relationship fizzled out during a holiday with Rebel’s family.

She writes that she innocently offered Mickey, who had told her he’s had previous stints in rehab, a sleeping tablet for the flight to Dubai.

But the actress says Mickey’s behavior began to change as the couple travelled onto Ibiza with Rebel writing: ‘If I were more adept at dealing with addicts, I’d pick up on the fact that he’s relapsed at some point on that trip.’

However, the pair have remained friends with Mickey sharing a throwback photo of the pair in 2021 and calling her ‘the most beautiful girl I know!… Inside and out.’

The actress has since revealed she chose to open up about her 𝑠e𝑥ual history in her new book in the hopes that it will help young people because ‘not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager.’

She explained that she thinks if she was born 20 years later, she would have felt more open to exploring her 𝑠e𝑥uality at a younger age.

‘It’s absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would’ve explored my 𝑠e𝑥uality more. I just knew I was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing,’ the Senior Year actress said.

‘And so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father’s death and realizing, oh, even though I’d seen marriage as a terrible thing and waste of time, I started opening myself up to that,’ she said.

‘And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just think it’s a sign of where society kind of was.’

She recently revealed that a situationship with a female tennis player opened her up to love for the first time.

Still on camera but out of her character, Rebel can then be heard discussing the blocking, telling Sacha, ‘I’ll do a slap [of your butt] and I’ll do a – going down the crack’, to which he replies, ‘It’s almost as if you’re going to ram your fingers inside.’
