This summer, Manchester United “may release SEVEN players.” Featuring a seasoned player with 317 club appearances

According to speculations, Manchester United could release up to seven players this summer as part of a huge clearout.

Following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of a 25% share in United, the club is ready for a major overhaul this summer.

The INEOS CEO has wasted no time in placing his stamp on the club, with Omar Berrada entering as chief executive from rival Manchester City, and Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth poised to play key roles in the big revamp.

However, as stated by the Manchester Evening News, the squad is expected to undergo significant changes.

Central defenders Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are both out of contract and are poised to leave.

The former has been hampered by ailments, and United declined to exercise a contract option on the Frenchman.

Evans has filled in admirably and played more games than he could have anticipated upon his comeback, but he is already 36.

Third-choice keeper Tom Heaton, who signed a one-year extension in the summer, and Brandon Williams, who is now on loan at Ipswich Town, are both poised to leave on free.

The academy product has not played for the Championship club since 2024, and he recently appeared in court after being accused of consuming laughing gas before crashing at 74mph.

Anthony Martial, who has made 317 appearances for United, is one of the most high-profile players who could go.

The Frenchman is once again injured and will be out of contract this summer. The most recent update reveals that there are no plans to offer him new terms.

Sofyan Amrabat has underperformed during his loan spell from Fiorentina, where he will return after United chose not to exercise their option to buy him outright.

Finally, youngster Omari Forson’s contract is about to expire.

He made a surprising start against Fulham but has only played eight minutes since and does not appear to be in line for a contract.
