“And then, I guess it must have been about four or five years ago, we were backstage at this Taylor Swift show. I went to his dressing room to say hi. And we, like, started writing this song. Then after that, we like, spent a lot of time with each other because we had the song together and we did a whole Jingle Ball tour together. And that’s really when the f–king saga started. I really liked him. I guess he liked me, but I don’t really know.”

During the time they weren’t together Camila was romantically linked to Austin Mahone, Louis Tomlinson, Jacob Whitesides and Michael Clifford, among others in the past. After years of insisting they were nothing more than friends, Camila and Shawn confirmed their relationship in July 2019.

“Honestly, this past year and a half was the first time I really experienced falling in love with another person. I think there is so much more depth to love when you know you are in it with another person,” Camila told Elle magazine in September 2019. “You have so much more to say — I think that’s what makes me emotional.”

While they were together, the pair packed on the PDA and shared their romance with fans. In fact, fans even thought the couple got married in October 2020, but Shawn was quick to set the record straight. “We haven’t [tied the knot], but I did buy her a beautiful ring and I think she might have just wore it on this finger at some moment, just because she’s fun,” he told the Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp radio show.

But things came to an end in November 2021, when the pair announced that they had officially split.

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” they shared in a joint social media statement. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”

Camila and Austin started dating back in 2014, while Fifth Harmony was opening up for the “What About Love” crooner on his tour. It’s unclear why they split in the end, but things seem all good between them!

He even admitted that he was crushing on the brunette beauty to MTV! “I’ve definitely been crushing on Camila. I’m sorry, Fifth Harmony fans. Don’t hate me,” he said. “It’s just a crush. I don’t look at her, don’t worry. I can’t make eye contact.”

But Jacob eventually shut down rumors that they were dating during an Instagram Live. “Me and Camila are friends,” he revealed. “If I want to f–king post a picture with her, I don’t need your approval!”

Camila was first linked to Matthew in early 2018, when the two were spotted smooching in Mexico. “Any time he’s there, I get super nervous. I stutter or my hands are shaky,” the singer told Marie Claire in November 2018. “It’s annoying, because we’ve been together for kind of like a long time now, but every time, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I have to talk now.’ He’s so similar to me. There’s a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful, insensitive things is really not funny, is causing all of us pain, and doesn’t at all reflect the values I talk about.”
