Since they began dating last summer, Taylor Swift has reportedly joked that she “put” her boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, “on the map” with her song “The Alchemy.” Kelce’s popularity has continued to climb.
Three-time Super Bowl winner Travis witnessed a 400% increase in sales of his Kansas City jersey following the official announcement of his connection with Taylor during the opening game of the 2023 NFL season, when Taylor watched the Chiefs defeat the Jets in New York in September.
Swift’s previously mentioned hit song, which was released on The Tortured Poets Department on April 19, has now drawn attention from fans who have discovered multiple references to her partner.
Swift sings in the song, “This happens once every few lifetimes / These chemicals hit me like white wine.” “How would I tell you that I’m back?” The worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had was in the hospital.
“I circled you on a map,” she says. “It’s been a while since I’ve returned, but I’m coming back strong.”
Swifties have observed allusions to Travis Kelce in Taylor’s smash song “The Alchemist.”
‘The Alchemist’ features in Taylor’s album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ dropped in April
The Grammy Award-winning musician and her NFL boyfriend encourage each other’s professional endeavors.
Several Swifties responded to the lyrics on X by saying, “Honestly, who are we fighting to fight The Alchemy?” The artist’s fan account wrote, “Why does the alchemy really sound like Travy made it to the big game?” after hearing the song. “The alchemy has been stuck in my head all day,” a second fan commented.
In an episode of his podcast “New Heights” from November of last year, Travis—who earlier this week hinted at another Swift song being about him in her upcoming album—addressed the persistent joke that he’s only famous as the popstar’s boyfriend.
“On the map,” after that.In the episode, Travis said to his older brother Jason, “I’m putting my face on the map, obviously.” A special thanks to Taylor.
Travis and Taylor have made it a point to support one another’s careers as their relationship only gets stronger. Swift attended thirteen of his NFL games, and he has been spotted at a number of her foreign Eras Tour stops.
Swift in “The Alchemy” also appeared to be influenced by Travis’s Chiefs games.
In the chorus of the song, she says, “So when I touch down / Call the amateurs and cut’ em from the team.” “Baby, I’m the one to beat / Cause the sign on your heart / Said it’s still reserved for me.” “Ditch the clowns, get the crown.”
“These guys warm the benches,” she continues. We have been having success lately. ”It’s heroin, but with an E,’ he quips.
Earlier this week, Travis suggested that another song made by Taylor is about their romance
Taylor was at 13 of the Chiefs’ NFL games last season, including the Super Bowl win in Vegas
Swift was in Las Vegas when Travis and his Chiefs teammates won their second straight Super Bowl in February, as she flew all the way from Tokyo, where she had been performing at the time.
After the team’s win, Swift and Travis celebrated on the field, kissing passionately in front of the cameras – another moment seemingly mentioned in ‘The Alchemy.’
‘Shirts off and your friends lift up over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor,’ she sings. ‘Cheers chanted ’cause they said / ”There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league” / Where’s the trophy? He just comes running’ over to me.’
Over the weekend, Travis saw his popularity reach new heights, as he shared behind-the-scenes footage of his inclusion for ZenWTR’s upcoming commercial.
ESPN’s Pat McAfee also provided his take on the Chiefs star’s highly publicized romance with Swift, as he claimed that ‘two greats in love, that’s great for society.’
Swift even sent several NFL WAGS gifts to celebrate the launch of The Tortured Poets Department, including notes, a vinyl record and even sweatpants.
Fans of the Grammy Award winning artist are also suggesting that Swift aimed a dig at Formula One driver Fernando Alonso in her new album, as the singer was heavily linked with the Spaniard last year.
