Simon Pegg of Mission: Impossible took to Instagram to confirm that he has finished filming his sequences for The Boys Season 4. In his post, he shared how much fun he had on site and promised that the next installment will be “insane.”
Pegg will reprise his role as Hughie’s father, Mr. Campbell. The English actor had previously lent his voice to Prime Video’s adult-animated spin-off The Boys Presents: Diabolical, in which he played Hughie Campbell, a nod to how the character in the comic book series was originally modeled after Pegg’s likeness.
Besides Pegg, Season 4 will also feature Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Rob Benedict (Supernatural), and Elliot Knight (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II), with DeWitt tapped for the role of Hughie’s mom.
The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes — who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods — abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics’ boundary-pushing violence and 𝑠e𝑥uality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.
The Amazon Studios series stars Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Karl Urban, along with Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, Claudia Doumit, and Colby Minifie.
Season 3 featured the addition of Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles as the infamous Soldier Boy, Katia Winter as Little Nina, Miles Gaston Villanueva (Law & Order True Crime) as Supersonic, Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints) as Gunpowder, Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Blue Hawk, and Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead) as Crimson Countess.
The series, based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen — who are also responsible for AMC’s Preacher — and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. Seasons 1 to 3 are available for streaming on Prime Video.
