Man Joined fans will always remember Andre Onana’s disputable response to Virgil Van Dijk on a day when the Cameroonian goalkeeper’s “wonder” made Liverpool lose the best position in the table

After Manchester United and Liverpool tied 0-0 at Anfield, Virgil Van Dijk kept up their fight.

At Anfield, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United had great defense, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were getting more and more angry as the game went on.

Liverpool had more of the ball and more of the field during the game, but they couldn’t make clear-cut chances against Manchester United, so a tie was a fair outcome.

United may feel like they should have won more than a point at Anfield because Rasmus Hojlund had a great chance to put the visitors ahead but Alisson stopped him.

Van Dijk and Onana are

Andre Onana played great at Anfield, showing once more why he is getting used to the demands of being a United goalie in the Premier League.

Before the game, Onana was adamant that he was more than good enough for the Red Devils. He proved it on Merseyside by making a string of great saves that kept the home team from scoring the winning goal.

Alex Crook of TalkSport says that Onana had a conversation with Van Dijk as the two teams were leaving. The conversation made Van Dijk angry, which will make United fans happy.

The Cameroon player is said to have told Van Dijk, “Because of you, we only played a half-hour game.”

Onana smiled at the former Southampton defender and didn’t say anything else, which made the Dutch defender even more angry.

Roy Keane had also slammed Van Dijk on Sky after he said that only one team was trying to win the game.

The work that Onana did

Onana, who is 27 years old, was in great shape for Manchester United. His play at Anfield more than made up for the mistakes he made in the Champions League earlier in the season.

He looked great and made six saves during the game. This will give the Cameroon international’s confidence a world of good after a rough few weeks in goal.

Last month, Onana had another great game at Goodison Park. This clean sheet at Anfield will hopefully be the time when United officially see him as their number-one goalkeeper.
