NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” parodied President Biden’s State of the Union speech and enlisted actress Scarlet Johansson to lampoon US Sen. Katie Britt’s GOP rebuttal in its opening sketch.
“I have the honor or serving the great people of Alabama,” said Johansson.
“But tonight I’ll be auditioning for the part of scary mom, and I’ll be performing an original monologue called this country is hell.
“You see, I’m not just a senator. I’m a wife, a mother, and the craziest b—h in the Target parking lot.”
Britt has been the center of attention since Thursday’s puzzling rebuttal to Biden’s speech, using her kitchen as a backdrop and taking the president to task over the migrant crisis — albeit by misrepresenting an anecdote about sex trafficking amid the unrest at the US border.Actress Scarlett Johansson took on the role of Republican US Sen. “I’m worried about the future of our children, and this is why I’ve invited you into this strange, empty kitchen. Because Republicans wanted me to appeal to woman voters, and women love kitchens,” Johansson said as Britt.
“Kitchens are where families have the hard conversations like the one we’ll have tomorrow about how mommy freaked out the entire country,” she said.
“First and foremost, I’m a mom,” she said. “And like any mom, I’m going to do a pivot out of nowhere into a shockingly violent story about sex trafficking. And rest assured, every detail about it is real, except the year, where it took place, and who was president when it happened.”
The monologue included a spoof of a scene in Jordan Peele’s hit flick “Get Out,” and mocked her domestic backdrop by suggesting the set doubled as an infomercial for a diamond-studded cross necklace selling for $97.40 — in five easy payments.
“Tonight, I am not just responding to the State of the Union,” Johansson said. “I am also selling these gorgeous bejeweled cross necklaces. This affinity diamond necklace goes with anything, and you can wear it from the church to the club.”
“But to the American people who are struggling right now, know this. We hear you, we see you, we smell you,” she added. “We’re inside your kitchen right now looking through your fridge. And what’s that on the top shelf? Migrants.”
Britt, an Alabama Republican, has made headlines for her odd and seemingly scripted GOP rebuttal to President BIden’s State of the Union speech on Thursday night. ABC
Britt wasn’t the only pol roasted on the show — Mike Day opened as a pumped-up Biden, whooping it up and taking shots at Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson.
“I just pounded a Celsius [energy drink], let’s do this, Whoo!,” the fake president said, as he went overboard in trying to deflect criticism about his advanced age and energy levels.

“You know, I would stay here and talk to ya’ll more,” Day said as Biden. “But I saw a glimpse of the Republican senator’s response to my speech and I think she’s gonna help me more than anything else I can say here. Enjoy.”
