Gio Isn’t Interested In A Career In Music — And Sonny Is Primed To Groom Him For The Business

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) cousin, Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) may have stunned everyone with his violinist skills at the wedding ceremony, but he has more surprises in store for his family.

As luck would have it, Gio is going to stick around Port Charles for a bit, and that makes us wonder just who he’ll end up attaching himself to in the area.

Brook Lynn is certain to be wrapped up in grief with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) for a while in the wake of Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) death.

While we aren’t surprised that Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) scooped him up and insisted he stay at the Quartermaine mansion, we have to wonder whether he’ll be spending much time on those grounds. There is a good chance we’ll be seeing Gio at Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse before long.

General Hospital Spoilers — They’re So Proud!

The Cerullo family couldn’t be more proud of Gio and his accomplishments as a violinist. Everyone commented all night long at Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding about how talented Gio is, and how much he takes after his mother’s musical skills.

Those seem to run in the family. But we got the feeling Gio may not be quite as keen on becoming a professional violinist as his family desires for him. Will Gio go looking for an escape hatch out of music — and find it in Sonny?

GH Spoilers – Leak the Loyalty to Sonny Corinthos Is Already There

Gio showed up at the wedding looking for Sonny, as though he was most excited about that part of the event.

Reuniting with Sonny held value for him, and he was quick to credit him with paying his way through music lessons over the years to hone his skills with the string instrument.

Gio was clearly enamored with Sonny from the moment he spotted him at the wedding reception. Will that naive amazement extend beyond music and into a much darker world he takes interest in?

General Hospital Spoilers — The Next Dex?

Gio seems to really look up to Sonny. Rumor has it the latest gossip about the mob master beating a Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to a pulp isn’t going to sway the image Gio has had of Sonny in his head all these years.

Assuming the role of Sonny’s protector might seem a bit premature and ill-fitted for a 21-year-old guy, but without many others in Sonny’s corner, it could end up playing out that way. Is Gio the next Dex?

The next Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Another lackey for Sonny to groom into what he wants him to be? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.
