Paris Saint-Germain turn up the heat on Real Madrid with move for top defensive talent

Lille teenager Leny Yoro is one of the most highly rated talents in European football, and regarded as one of the best defenders in Ligue 1 at just 18 years of age. His future looks bright, and he will be the subject of heavy interest this summer.

With his deal up in 2025, and no sign of renewal, Lille look set to sell Yoro this summer, but are demanding €60m. Real Madrid have identified Yoro as one of the best opportunities on the market, after months of scouting, and will look to sign him this summer, but have no intention of breaking the bank. Their limit is a reported €40m.

Meanwhile Liverpool are interested, but Paris Saint-Germain profile as their strongest competition. The French champions made a bid in January, which was turned down, and Lille would rather sell Yoro outside of France. As per Diario AS, PSG are set to turn up the heat though, and Sporting Director Luis Campos will intensify talks for him in the coming days.

PSG could well be willing to offer the required amount though, and while Yoro’s priority is to sign for Real Madrid, PSG will push to convince him. Unless Los Blancos can reach an agreement with Lille, then Yoro, who is keen to move this year, could see PSG as his only option.

Nacho Fernandez will leave Real Madrid this summer, and Rafa Marin is due to return from his loan deal at Alaves to fill his spot in the squad at the Santiago Bernabeu. However Yoro is regarded as a unique talent in Europe currently, and even if Real Madrid are experts at signing the top youngsters in world football, it appears the deal could hinge on Lille’s willingness to negotiate.
