Verstappen’s record 16th win of the season and Perez’s heartbreak – it’s our Mexico City GP review

It was a dramatic Mexico City Grand Prix with Max Verstappen breaking another record as he scored his 16th victory of the season. But there was plenty more to unpack from the weekend and our F1 Nation crew is on hand to review it all.

Tom Clarkson is joined by Natalie Pinkham as well as Mexican former Sauber and Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez as the trio review Verstappen’s record-breaking win and give their verdict on whether he could make it to 19 by the end of the year.

They also discuss the heartbreaking scene of Sergio Perez retiring out at his home race. The Red Bull driver made a fast start but collided with Charles Leclerc at Turn 1, with the damage sustained too bad for him to continue.
