Adrien Brody has added another best actor Oscar to his trophy collection.
The actor, who previously won for best actor in 2002 for his leading role in “The Pianist,” was emotional as he accepted the Oscar from last year’s winner Cillian Murphy.
“Thank you God. Thank you, for this blessed life. If I may just humbly begin by giving thanks for the tremendous outpouring of love I’ve felt from this world and every individual that has treated me with respect and appreciation. I feel so fortunate,” he said.

Brody continued, “You know, acting is a very fragile profession. It looks very glamour, and at certain moments it is, but the one thing I’ve gained having the privilege to come back here is to have some perspective. And no matter where you are in your career, no matter what you’ve accomplished, it can all go away. I think what makes this night most special is the awareness of that and the gratitude I have to still do the work that I love.”
The 51-year-old said the award represented the destination of his career and also the possibility to start again. He said he hopes in the next 20 years of his life he can still be cast in more important roles.
Next, Brody applauded his fellow nominees, thanked his team and shared his award with his cast. He also gave his partner Georgina Chapman a special shout out.
When the music started to play him off, he successfully evaded having to end his speech by joking that he’s “done this before.” The actor is still in the history books as the youngest Oscar best actor winner ever, for his previous win at the age of 29.
He concluded his speech by reminding the audience to “not let hate go unchecked.”
