Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has made history by becoming the first player in NBA history to hit 4,000 career three-pointers, a remarkable achievement that places him nearly 900 shots ahead of second-place James Harden. Following his milestone moment, Curry reflected on not only this latest accomplishment but also on the memory of his very first three-pointer in the league.

In a post-game interview, Curry shared insights about the atmosphere during the game, noting that his teammates seemed anxious to help him reach the 4,000 mark. “It was a weird night because we all knew I was two away,” he explained. Curry made his first three-pointer during the first quarter off a transition play. However, the Kings’ defensive strategy posed challenges, leading to a tense moment for the Warriors as they watched their 20-point lead dwindle.

Despite the pressure, Curry remained focused. “You can’t force it else you’re giving up good shots,” he emphasized, recognizing the need for team cooperation. The energy at Madison Square Garden, where he achieved this record, was electrifying, with legends Ray Allen and Reggie Miller in attendance, adding to the significance of the night.

Curry expressed gratitude for being able to share this milestone with his family, particularly his wife, Aisha Curry, who was present for the event. “She wasn’t in New York for the record 2,974, so it was cool that she was here for 4,000,” he said, highlighting the importance of family in his career.

As he prepares to celebrate his birthday and return to practice, Curry remains grounded. He joked about the potential of reaching 8,000 three-pointers but quickly dismissed the idea of putting that kind of pressure on himself. Reflecting on his journey from his first three-pointer to now, he acknowledged the emotional connection to his past and the people who have been part of his development. Steph Curry continues to inspire, both on and off the court, as he sets new benchmarks in the NBA.
