Billboard has named Taylor Swift as the most influential female artist of the 21st century. Her chart-topping success and industry impact earn her the top spot on the list.

Billboard has officially crowned Taylor Swift as the most influential female artist of the 21st century, topping its newly released Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century chart.

The list, which ranks female artists based on their performance on the Billboard 200 album chart and Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, sees Swift leading the pack thanks to her chart dominance, industry impact, and advocacy for artists’ rights.

Rihanna, despite not releasing an album since 2016’s Anti, secured the second spot, while Beyonc landed in third place. Other top-ranking artists include Adele, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pink, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and Alicia Keys.

Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, debuted at No 1 on the Billboard 200 and set a record for the most Hot 100 hits in a single week. It also became her 14th No 1 album, making her the female artist with the most chart-topping albums in history.

In addition to her record-breaking success, Swift has won 14 Grammy Awards and is the first artist ever to win Album of the Year four times. Her Eras Tour shattered records worldwide, and her decision to re-record her early albums to reclaim her masters has further cemented her influence on the industry.
