**Breaking News: Horror Unfolds as Two Backpackers Fall Victim to a Notorious Criminal in Australia**

In a chilling turn of events, two young backpackers, Lena and Beatric, found themselves in a life-or-death struggle after accepting a ride from Roman Hinds, a man with a violent past. The harrowing incident unfolded in February 2016, as the women embarked on a road trip along Australia’s Great Ocean Road, unaware they were entering the clutches of one of the country’s most dangerous predators.

Initially, the duo felt a sense of adventure as they met Hinds, 59, who offered them a ride. However, their excitement quickly turned to terror when he diverted their route to the desolate Salt Creek. Once there, Hinds unleashed a horrifying attack, using a knife and a hammer against Beatric, who bravely fought back and screamed for Lena’s help.

Lena, awakened by the commotion, rushed to aid her friend, only to be struck violently by Hinds. In a desperate bid for survival, Lena engaged in a fierce struggle, suffering severe injuries but managing to escape. With Hinds in pursuit, Lena’s courage led her to climb onto the roof of his car, hoping for salvation.

Meanwhile, Beatric, naked and terrified, flagged down a passing vehicle, alerting the young men inside to the imminent danger. They raced to find Lena, who was still trapped with Hinds. In a dramatic confrontation, brave fishermen cornered Hinds, allowing Lena to flee and ultimately leading to his arrest.

Both women were hospitalized with horrific injuries, yet their resilience shone through. Hinds was charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault and false imprisonment. In a shocking twist, it was revealed that he had a history of violence against women, and many fear he may have claimed other victims before them.

The trial commenced in February 2017, revealing the dark reality of Hinds’ predatory behavior. While he was sentenced to 22 years in prison, the case raises urgent questions about the safety of travelers and the failures of the justice system to protect them. As the community grapples with the aftermath, the bravery of Lena and Beatric serves as a stark reminder of the darkness that can lurk beneath the surface of adventure.
