Country Stars React To Charlie Kirk’s Death

Many of country music’s biggest stars took to social media to mourn the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. For several artists who had met him or shared personal connections, the tragic news was especially difficult to process.

Their heartfelt tributes reflected not only their grief but also the deep impact Kirk had on those who knew him.

Jason Aldean, a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump and the conservative movement, shared a photo with Kirk standing between him and his wife, Brittany.

“Charlie Kirk was one of the kindest, smartest and bravest people I’ve ever met. I’m honored to have met and spoke with him on a few occasions. He was a man of peace and wanted nothing but the best for our country and its youth.”

Aldean Dedicates Song For Charlie At Detroit Concert

During his concert in Detroit on Thursday night (September 11), Aldean paid tribute to his late friend by dedicating his performance of “Try That In A Small Town” to the Turning Point USA co-founder.

Aldean briefly stopped the show to speak to the crowd, saying he felt it was important to take a moment and recognize what had happened just one day prior.

“I couldn’t get through tonight without addressing something that happened yesterday, as you guys well know,” Aldean said. “An amazing person by the name of Charlie Kirk was murdered yesterday in Utah. This was a guy that I knew for a few years, had a chance to meet him on quite a few occasions, talk to him, one of the best people ever. I mean, this is not the guy you go after is what I’m trying to say.”

Aldean reflected on how Kirk had been one of the song’s earliest supporters, then dedicated that night’s performance to his memory.

“Charlie’s a guy that’s going to be very, very much missed, and this is something that his legacy is going to live on forever with Turning Point and what he’s done with only 31 years on this planet. It’s amazing. So just a really tragic loss for everybody. I know you guys have been feeling it as well, so tonight, since he was one of the ones that stuck out for the song, let’s play this one for Charlie,” Aldean said.

The country star also shared support when President Donald Trump was shot in July of 2024.
