As a result, the trip is in danger of being canceled due to a variety of challenges and complications.Messi was joined on his journey back to the United States by Jorge Mas and David Beckham, the owners of Inter Miami, as well as by his personal bodyguard Yasine Cheuko, who once again played the role of the Argentine’s shadow.

 

Messi reported to the facilities of the Inter Miami training field on the morning of Tuesday, when he was accorded a warm welcome by the squad. The team also congratulated him on winning the Ballon d’Or by standing in a guard of honor for him.

This morning, Inter Miami published photographs of welcoming Lionel Messi via social media with the message “Welcome home, winner.” They followed the message with the hashtag #WelcomeHomeMessi.

After receiving the honor, Messi gave an interview in which he discussed his competition with Cristiano Ronaldo as well as his feelings on the Ballon d’Or. In the interview, he said, “The truth is that I stopped thinking about the Ballon d’Or a long time ago.” I have stated in the past that it has never been one of my top priorities, and once I have accomplished everything I set out to do in my profession and reached this point in my life, it is now a lot lower priority for me. I believe that this will be the last time I compete for the Ballon d’Or, and I am glad to have accomplished everything that I have, including being the player with the most Ballon d’Ors (eight). I am delighted.”
