Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, follows in the footsteps of legendary musicians like Bob Dylan and Jack White, who were photographed by the renowned HEDI SLIMANE for his portrait series.
The fashion luxury brand CELINE unveiled a new campaign photoshoot featuring their latest global ambassador, Taehyung. The portrait series captures the brand’s identity and aesthetics, with artistic director HEDI SLIMANE overseeing every aspect, from concept to styling and photography.
Taehyung embodies CELINE’s chic and refined style, wearing a Western shirt, leather jackets, slim-fit slacks, and accessories. His piercing gaze and immaculate facial features complement the rock-chic outfit he dons.
Hedi Slimane began his career as a photographer before taking on the role of creative fashion director for Dior Homme, Yves Saint Laurent, and now CELINE.
Taehyung has showcased a deep interest and talent in photography since his early years, sharing his own photographs and paying homage to his favorite photographers. In 2017, he expressed his admiration for Hedi Slimane by posting a set of photos under the title “Vedi Slimane Diary” as a tribute to “Hedi Slimane Diary.”
CELINE pursued a collaboration with Taehyung for three years. However, due to BigHit Music’s strict “group only” policy in the past, he didn’t get a chance to work with the brand until 2022, when they announced a group hiatus to pursue their solo careers.
Taehyung eagerly seized the opportunity to collaborate with Hedi Slimane, and over the past year, he has represented CELINE, participating in multiple magazine cover photoshoots and brand events.
It’s been a dream come true for Taehyung to work with an artist he deeply admires, and their shared passion is poised to foster a long and successful partnership.
